Andrea Ray

Last week for one of my classes we had a guest speaker, Andrea Ray who showed us some work created by her and some of her friends. Her works all used a database for narratives, including audio and visual. She had different installations, one called "Roses" where the viewer lays in a body of roses as they listened to the narrative. Another piece was a recreation also using audio, but taking the participant on a journey through the streets as a story is told. Lastly, she showed a work from a friend which incorporated a 4 different videos with a audio narrative telling a story using the videos and audio. The only problem was the audio was not always matching the audio, causing me, a viewer to take a step back and think about what i was listening to and watching simultaneously.
